Twins: Margarita Recipe

Classic margarita

Serves 1

  • 3 ounces tequila
  • 1/2 ounce Cointreau
  • 2 ounces fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1 ounce sugar water syrup
  • 1 Tbsp salt for rim
  • Ice cubes


Add the ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass or rocks glass filled with fresh ice.

Garnish with a lime wheel. (For a slightly sweeter drink, add a dash of agave syrup—one part water, two parts agave nectar—before shaking)  The sugar water syrup is easy enough to make yourself.


Use 1/4 cup of water to 1/4 cup of sugar and heat the mixture on low heat until all the sugar is dissolved.


You can also make a larger batch and store in a sealed container in the fridge for about one month.
